Day trip hicking at Costa Brava

In this Day trip, we’ll do a hiking route on Baix Empordà, where we’ll enjoy some of the best bays of the Costa Brava area.

The route starts in the fisherman town of Palamos, it cross some beautiful Calas like “Cala Margarida”, where you can still find some old fishermen’s huts. From there, we’ll climb a small mountain (72mts), where you’ll enjoy the view of steep cliffs. After that, you’ll directly go to La Fosca beach, where we’ll find the ruins of a medieval castle, we’ll cross a Mediterranean pine area and you’ll reach some fishing barracks (whose origin is from XVI century).

We’ll continue our route and arrived at Castell Beach, a natural scenery of great beauty that has been used as a hotspot for many films. From here, we enter in another space dominated by forests of oaks and pines. Right at the start of the climb, we find the Iberian settlement of S. VI BC, under the hidden cave of La Foradada (a natural rock tunnel that allows navigation inside small boats).

We’ll walk from cove to cove along the sand, starting in a nudist area, and ending in Formigues Island, where in the XIII Century the Catalan Navy, commanded by Roger de Llúria defeated the French Navy. After a bath and our picnic lunch, we’ll start our coming back to Palamòs this time crossing a Pine trees forest.

Pick up at the meeting point and transfer to the costa brava.
